Four years ago, Katie was a bridesmaid in one of the first weddings I photographed. She promised me that someday she would have me photograph her wedding. Well, that day finally came and what a beautiful day it was. From the amazing time we had together during their engagement session in New York City to their incredible wedding day in St. Louis, it has been such a pleasure becoming friends with Katie and Chris. Katie, thank you so much for staying true to your promise – I am so grateful to have been a part of your day.
I remember the day that I received Allison’s first email telling me about the wedding she was planning on her family’s farm in Illinois. As she described the long gravel road that led to the property, the hundreds of trees that were planted there, the barn and the pond where the ceremony would take place, I knew that this was going to be an incredible day. This land had so much sentimental value to her family, it only made sense to make it the starting place of her very own family. I can only imagine the amount of thought and time that went in to executing all of the DIY details. The hand drawn welcome chalkboards, the fresh bouquets picked from the property, the vintage furniture that held the homemade desserts – everything was just perfect. But what resonated with me more than anything was the outpouring of love and support from James and Allison’s friends and family. I am humbled to have been able to be a part of such a very special day.
